Ok, so the blog didn't work out so well.  We have been living in Brazil for 9 months now and this is my FIRST post about it?  Wow...but I have a really GOOD excuse.  We started our own business and it's been mostly 16 hour days 6 days a week and on the 7th day (nope, not resting) church obligations and not internet access.  So why am I blogging now? We are going back to the US.  And hopefully I will have time to document all of our crazy, amazing, scary, fun and exciting adventures.  As well as some of the normal day to day that was actually abnormal for a while coming from another country.
"Wait, why are you going back?"
Good question.  Life.  It changes, and we have to change along with it.  Don't worry.  It will all be explained later.  From the US.

Did you hear the one about the family that kept saying they were moving to Brazil?

And so the story continues...  It's actually going to happen this time.  It has been a long saga of yes then no then yes again and no, not ever.  And then, It happened.  We felt peace, we knew we had to move to Brazil and if it didn't happen now, it would never happen.  So, we're going, we're excited and we're packing...a lot!

If I could save time in a bottle...

Our adventure is temporarily on hold.  Obviously we are not living in Brazil, for now.  But when that day comes in the future, this blog will for sure be updated!

The Story Begins

This blog is for my sanity.  We are an atypical American family. We attempted the American Dream, but it's just not working out at the time.  My husband is Brazilian, born and raised, who one fine day came to the United States.  I am American, Utahn, specifically, who one fine day met said Brazilian and it was "love at first date".  I knew I wanted to be with him forever.  We were married in March of 2002 bought a house and quickly proceeded to have 3 beautiful children.  Well, we are in our second home and were on our way to real estate investment riches when the economy turned upsidedown and our bread winner was laid off.  Next step?  Invest in an economy that is growing, BRASIL!!!  We are going to Brasil. Our kids (and myself) will learn portuguese, we will embrace the culture and we will progress.  I am going to blog about our adventures and successes.  I don't know if anyone other than my family (and only due to saudades) will read this but, I'm going to do it anyway.  It will help me keep things in perspective.
